ABOUT CLASSES

Junior students will learn songs from their favourite musicals, creative dances, basic stagecraft skills, as well as lifelong skills like confidence, communication, and teamwork.
The musicals we produce provide excellent opportunities for some of our Juniors to gain solo singing parts, perform comedy acting roles, showcase their dancing skills, and much more. We celebrate the fact that our Juniors make many new friends during their time with us.

It is important to be prepared for class, so we recommend the following:
  • Juniors should go over any new songs, dances, and acting bits during the week leading up to class.
  • Dress in comfortable clothing; in Forge Drama uniform if possible.
  • Get Jazz shoes, as they are very helpful in aiding the learning of dance techniques.
  • Bring water, and small, healthy snacks.
Senior students will develop their singing abilities through performing some of the classic musical numbers. They will learn and grow their dance skills through technique work and choreographed pieces in a whole manner of styles. Their acting skills will reach new levels through technique focused exercises, creative activities, and plenty of fun drama games.
Our musicals offer a chance for our seniors to lead shows, grow their character and solo repertoire, impress audiences with their performances, and much more.
It is important to us that our seniors always develop strong relationships with their peers through the process of rehearsing a musical.
Seniors should prepare for class in the following ways:
  • Practise new songs, dances, and acting bits in their free time during the week.
  • Dress in comfortable clothing; in Forge Drama uniform if possible.
  • Invest in Jazz shoes. They are very helpful in aiding the learning of dance techniques.
  • Bring water, and small, healthy snacks.

The Minis is designed to give an introduction to performing arts through lots of games and exercises. Classes are shorter, and will focus towards performing at least one musical theatre number in our big musical each year. Minis are aged from Reception to School Year 2 (4 to 6 years old). Minis have the opportunity to “graduate” up to the Juniors, but are also more than welcome to stay as a Mini until the end of School Year 2.

Minis should prepare for class in the following ways:
  • Dress in comfortable clothing; in Forge Drama uniform if possible.
  • Invest in Jazz shoes. They are very helpful in aiding the learning of dance techniques.
  • Bring water, and leave all toys at home.

Coming to Carmarthen in 2024 is Oliver! JR.

The streets of Victorian England come to life as Oliver, a malnourished orphan in a workhouse, becomes the neglected apprentice of an undertaker. Oliver escapes to London and finds acceptance amongst a group of petty thieves and pickpockets led by the elderly Fagin.

A touching show about love, trust, and caring for one another.

What Our Families are Saying

Forge Drama has been amazing for my little girl. She has become so confident through the guidance of the drama coaches. I would recommend Forge to any parent considering putting their child into a drama club.

Seeing their self-confidence grow with every show they perform in has been overwhelming! The contrast in my daughter in particular has been unbelievable. She no longer stands at the back of the crowd, but loves getting stuck into the singing and dancing. I would definitely recommend Forge Drama to any parent. Thank you to the Forge Drama team.

Forge drama has given my daughter an excellent opportunity to be a part of a group working towards developing her creative abilities … It has taught her a wide range of skills including enhanced emotional competence where she has learned to be considerate of the feelings and differences of others.

My son has been attending Forge drama since he was 8 and is still enjoying it at 13. Over the years I have seen him flourish and grow in confidence. He has had the opportunity to participate in so many productions and sitting and watching him having fun and learning new skills has been amazing. The mixture of acting, dance and singing is great. He has made so many new friends and looks forward to the weekly classes. Thank you so much Osian and Forge Drama!
